On Wednesday, Judge Amy Coney Barrett once again triumphed over attempts by the Democrats to get her to speak up on matters that could potentially be before the Supreme Court.
Barrett shines on the last day of questioning
On her last day of Senate questioning, she kept telling Democratic senators that she had no opinion on her fabricated questions. But that didn't stop the Democrats from asking her.
Barrett sounded sharp and looked perfect. The Democrats looked bored and sounded defeated and depressed. But the right rightly crows about Barrett's performance.

Lindsey Graham, Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, opened the day:
“History is being made here, folks. This is the first time in American history that we have nominated a woman for life without shame and accept her faith without excuse and go to court.
It will be a great signal for all young women who want to share your perspective on the world that there is a place for them at the table. "

Then the questions began. There was a democratic litany of them.
Vermont Democratic Senator Leahy asked, “And does the president have the absolute right to apologize for a crime? I mean, we must have heard that question after President Nixon's impeachment. "
"Sen. Leahy, as far as I know this question has never been challenged in court, that question never came up, ”Barrett replied. "This question may or may not arise, but it requires a legal analysis of the extent of the pardon."
"So since this is an open question, if I haven't gone through the judicial process to decide, I can't comment," she added.

Barrett said no can do at least a dozen times during the day. But the Democrats had nothing better to do. So they kept asking.
Ted Cruz said Democrats "have run out of arguments to question Judge Barrett's nomination, so don't bother to show yourself … It's noteworthy that we're just sitting here in this committee room and just there are two Democratic senators in the room. If you look at the podium, chair after chair is empty. The Democratic senators don't even attend. "
Yes, they gave up.
Democratic Senator Klobuchar said, "Are postal ballots, better known as postal ballots, an essential way for voters to vote now?"
"This is a matter of policy and I have no opinion on it," said Judge Barrett again.
Delaware Democratic Senator Coons asked Barrett to clarify the legal ramifications of thinking like Justice Scalia. Barrett was not amused with coons.
“I hope you are not suggesting that I don't have my own thoughts, or that I couldn't think for myself, or that I just make up my mind. Let me see what Justice Scalia has said about this in the past, because I assure you I have my own thoughts, ”Barrett said.
"But everything he said isn't necessarily what I would agree with or what I would do if I were Justice Barrett," she added.

Connecticut Democratic Senator Blumenthal asked, "Do you agree with the president's views on climate change?"
"I don't know I've seen the president express his views on climate change," said Judge Barrett.
Senator Booker from New Jersey said, "But do you think it would be wrong to separate children from their parents in order to prevent immigrants from coming to the US?"
Barrett replied, "Sen. Booker, that was a matter of political debate, and you know, of course, that this is a hot political debate and I cannot express an opinion or be used as a judge. "
And over and over again in the same way. You are asking an inappropriate question. She says she can't comment. Kamala Harris tried to involve her in an idiotic question and answer session. Barrett was cleverly disappointed. And so it continues.
At the end of the day, unlike the Kavanaugh hearings, there was little resentment as the Democrats clearly had their tent folded. Except for the final vote, it's all over. Probably 52-48 for confirmation.
