Former GOP Chairman: America is lastly eliminating Donald Trump's "sickness"

0

Former RNC chairman Michael Steele said on Wednesday evening that it was finally time for the US to move away from Donald Trump.

During an interview with MSNBC's Nicolle Wallace, Steele compared Trump to "a little brat who stands in the middle of a mall and refuses to move."

He said Trump is free to have a tantrum as his presidency heads towards the ash pile of history, but the American people don't have to acknowledge it.

"We have to stop carrying Donald Trump's luggage as a country," said Steele. "We must now start to get rid of this disease and heal ourselves."

Steele said:

I think as a nation, and certainly for an elected president, Joe Biden, plan accordingly when that moment comes. If he doesn't want to come to the inauguration, it will be a blemish, not for the United States, but for him. If he does not want to participate in the transition and cooperate with it, it will not be a blemish for the US, but for him. We have to stop carrying Donald Trump's luggage as a country. We have to stop. We need to start getting rid of this disease now and healing ourselves and taking the risk with someone like Joe Biden who is ready to move us in a different direction. And if Donald Trump wants to be that stubborn little brat who stands in the middle of the mall and stamps his feet and refuses to move, okay.

Its a lot to do

As this president heads toward a humiliating defeat by Joe Biden, there is still so much to do in a country where more than 68 million Americans have voted for an incompetent, corrupt, and amoral man like Donald Trump.

This work becomes even more difficult as Trump continues to refuse to accept the election results. He's trying to bring the land with him, but it's up to the American people not to let him do that.

It's time to turn the page Donald Trump and begin building a country and political system that appeals to the best in us, not the worst.
