Spokeswoman Pelosi expressed her displeasure with the 126 Republicans who had joined the failed Texas lawsuit and urged them to end their electoral subversion immediately.
The court rightly dismissed the extreme, illegal and undemocratic GOP lawsuit to overthrow the will of millions of American voters.
The 126 Republican members who signed the lawsuit brought shame to the House. Instead of upholding their oath in support and defense of the Constitution, they decided to undermine the Constitution and undermine public confidence in our sacred democratic institutions.
The pandemic is raging, nearly 300,000 have died and tens of millions have lost jobs. Strong, unified action is required to eradicate the virus, and Republicans must end their electoral subversion once and for all – immediately.
There is still a possibility that House Democrats will decide to take action to punish Republicans who appear to have violated the Constitution in attacking the presidential election. Pelosi's statement should be taken as a warning to the Republicans in the House that this is stopping now.
Never in the modern electoral history of the country has a group of elected officials taken such a public point of view in order to undermine the constitution. The Republicans of the House knew the lawsuit was a hoax, but they cynically insisted that they should be held accountable for their actions.
