Earlier this month we reported that former President Barack Obama found himself in hot water with the radical left when he spoke out against the Defund the Police movement.
Obama praises Defund The Police activists
In a new interview on Tuesday evening, Obama appeared to be trying to trace and earn some of the support he received from progressives by praising activists who disappoint the police while warning them of the dangers of that slogan if it did about alienating others.
"Nothing made me more optimistic in a difficult year than the activism we saw after the murder of George Floyd," Obama said on Comedy Central's The Daily Show.
"I have consistently believed that their courage, activism, media awareness and strategic determination are beyond anything I could have done at their age, and I think the conversation has changed in ways that I wanted to a couple of years ago wouldn't even have imagined, "he added.

Obama warns Democrats
Obama went on to warn that this slogan could blow in the face on Democrats if they persist.
“That particular slogan is worrying, I think, that there are potential allies you would lose. And the problem always is, how do you get enough people to support your cause so that you can actually institutionalize and legislate it? ", He said.
Obama added that slogans like Donald Trump's "Make America Great Again" and his own "Yes We Can" are much more effective when it comes to uniting people.

"Can we be so precise with our language that people who are convinced of this particular subject make a certain change that gets a certain result that we want," he said. "How can we best describe it?"

Obama struck back with a backlash for slamming Defund The Police
This came after Obama spoke out against the slogan "Defund the Police" earlier this month.
"You have lost a huge audience the moment you say it, which makes it much less likely that you will actually make the changes you want," Obama said.
Members of the radical liberal "Squad" hit Obama after speaking out on these comments.
“We are losing people in the hands of the police. It's not a slogan, it's a political demand. Centering the demand for equitable investments and budgets for communities across the country brings us progress and security, ”tweeted the representative. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) in response.
