Vice President Mike Pence reportedly called Vice President Elect Kamala Harris on Thursday to congratulate her on her victory.
Pence calls Kamala Harris
This call is the first known contact between the elected members of the Donald Trump administration and the new Joe Biden administration, according to The Associated Press.
Someone familiar with the conversation described it as a "good call". Pence congratulated his successor and offered every possible way to assist him with the transition.

Capitol rioters wanted to murder Pence
It came after the Justice Department announced that some of the rioters who stormed the Capitol last week intended to capture and murder Pence and other elected officials for refusing to name Trump the winner.
"Every American needs to understand what the Justice Department just released: Investigators have strong evidence that some of the rioters who stormed the United States Capitol were planning to kidnap and possibly murder the Vice President," said the Republican Senator from Nebraska, Ben Sasse said in a statement to The Daily Caller.

Biden will be inaugurated on Wednesday
This also comes less than a week before Biden's inauguration. Although Trump has said he won't be attending, Pence is expected to leave.
"It's a good thing he doesn't show up," said Biden, criticizing Trump for the Capitol riots.
“He exceeded even my worst expectations about him,” he said. "He was an embarrassment for the country."
However, Biden seems to see Pence differently.
"He's welcome," Biden said of pence. "I think it is important that we stick to historical precedents as much as possible on how changes in administration should be sustained. So Mike, the Vice President, is welcome to come. We would be honored to meet him to have there and push the transition. "
