During the busy 2016 season, Marco Rubio tried to go head to toe with Donald Trump. This ended in an embarrassing way for the Florida Senator. Trump even gave him the emasculating nickname "Little Marco".
Instead of standing up for himself, the Florida senator became a supporter of the ex-president. The only rebound from Rubio came in the form of vague Bible verses.
However, the Trump family has no interest in rewarding Rubio for his support. In fact, there are rumors that Ivanka Trump might make him primary for his seat. Rubio discussed this possibility with Neal Cavuto on Tuesday.
Rubio started the spot by telling the host it was hard to know what the political landscape will be like in the years to come. "But here, too, I'm not going to speculate and get into the art of political games. I have an election in 2022 and don't even know what I'll be thinking about in two or three years. Or what anyone will be talking about."
Cavuto stepped in: “We know you could face a big challenge next year. And there is talk that Ivanka Trump is interested in going up against you. What do you make of it?
A now nervous Rubio replied, "But, but, but who can't. I mean, we're all elected. Each and every one of us can be primary. Each and every one of us can have a primary challenger."
"But what would you think if it was Ivanka Trump," countered Cavuto. Rubio replied, "I would, I would, I like Ivanka Trump."
