Gretchen Whitmer activates Cuomo – requires an intensive investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D) publicly opposed New York Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo, calling for a "thorough, independent investigation" into the sexual harassment allegations made against him.

Whitmer turns on Cuomo

While on CNN, Whitmer was asked by presenter Jake Tapper if the allegations made by various former Cuomo employees were "sexual harassment".

"I think the allegations here are very serious and must be taken seriously, and I think that an impartial, thorough, independent investigation is deserved and appropriate," replied Whitmer.

Tapper went on to ask the Michigan governor if she believed Cuomo was "sexually molested (former aide) Charlotte Bennett".

"These are grave allegations and if they are true and true, and um, I think we need to take action," she replied, noticeably failing to elaborate on what "action" she would like to take.

Tapper went on to ask Whitmer about her "emotional reaction" to the allegation. At that point, she said she had a "nerve-wracking" answer that she believed was "a lot of women in America".

"As a survivor and as a feminist, I say that. We have to give people the opportunity to tell their story," Whitmer said to Tapper at the time. "Then we have a duty to check it out. And just because you're a survivor is called not that every claim is the same. "

“It means that we give them the opportunity to represent their case and also the other side. And then make a judgment that is informed, ”she added. “I read a lot about this current allegation. I know Joe Biden and have watched his defense. There is no pattern that responds to it. And I think for those reasons I feel very comfortable that Joe Biden is who he says he is. "

Cuomo has been accused of sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior by several former aides in the past few weeks. Despite cross-party calls for his resignation, Cuomo has stubbornly refused to do so at the time of this writing.
