Kayleigh McEnany reveals that she warned reporters that Biden would hardly ever converse to the press
At this point, Donald Trump, Barack Obama, and George W. Bush had all held press conferences in their respective presidencies, but Joe Biden had never spoken to the press.
McEnany warned the press about Biden
In a new interview on Monday, former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany told Fox News that she saw this coming and even warned the press about it.
"I actually warned some of the reporters in the press corps," McEnany said. "In the dwindling days of the Trump administration, he didn't do as many press availabilities every day as he went to [Marine One] or these press conferences."
"I said to the correspondents, 'You get a little taste of what it's going to be like in the Biden administration," she added. "I said I wouldn't expect to see much from him. We do not have that. We're still waiting for that solo press conference, we're still waiting for the day, apparently by the end of the month. "

McEnany slams Biden for missing press conferences
This came days after McEnany told Fox Business that Biden's lack of press conferences was "exceptional" but "not unprecedented".
"You will remember … he used the 'basement strategy' on the campaign," she said, referring to then-candidate Biden, who made press out of his basement. “It took him about 50 days and only asked questions twice. And when he did, they were hand-picked questions. "
McEnany added that she believes it is Biden's staff that are keeping him out of the press.

"I think his staff doesn't believe that he can stand on the podium and hold a press conference like President Trump has often done," she said.

"I don't think President Biden is saying," I don't want to do this. I think it's the people around him who recognize when he speaks. It doesn't always turn out as good as calling Republicans "Neanderthals" as he did recently in the Oval Office, "added McEnany.
In the end, McEnany believes Biden's staff are trying to protect him by delaying him speaking to the press.
"The pressure increases when you even have left-wing outlets asking him to do so," she said.
