McConnell Vs. Trump! Warring Wings Of GOP can compete towards one another within the Alaska Senate Race
The Senate Leadership Fund (SLF) announced on Friday that it would support Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) in her re-election campaign.
The group is affiliated with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), who has stated that he will "absolutely" support Murkowski's re-election offer.
Murkowski, often referred to as a moderate Republican, voted to condemn former President Donald Trump during his second impeachment trial in January.
After their vote, the Alaska Republican Party voted to blame Murkowski for their condemnation vote.
They also said they would be recruiting a Republican challenger – who could spark a head-to-head matchup between the GOP establishment wing and Trumpworld.
"Tshibaka will also stand up as a strong opponent of illegal immigration, a staunch supporter of the second amendment to the constitution and an advocate of the military. Her campaign also called her 'apologetic for life'." Https://t.co/myCGdUdiKO

Racing is viewed as experience vs. outsider
The 2022 midterm elections can be traced back to a simple question of who will decide the future direction of the Republican Party.

The McConnell-backed SLF had a war chest of $ 475 million in the last election cycle. She will now support not only Murkowski, but also a number of established companies like her.
SLF President Steven Law said, “Alaska needs the kind of skilled representation that Lisa Murkowski offers in the United States Senate. Whether she fights for Alaskan interests like expanding power generation and protecting fisheries, or advancing conservative priorities through ratification of judges and tax cuts, her strong leadership is vital to Alaska's future. "
In response to the SLF statement, Mary Ann Pruitt, aide to Kelly Tshibaka running against Murkowski in the GOP primary, issued a statement: “It's just like DC insiders to ignore the votes of Alaska voters in order to to protect one of their own. ”
Positioning herself as an outsider, Kelly Tshibaka says in a video of her intention to run that Murkowski was "so touchless" for condemning Trump after he resigned.
Prior to her current candidacy for the Senate, Tshibaka served in the office of the Inspector General for the US Postal Service, the Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Justice.
She resigned from her position in the government of Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy to focus on her candidacy for the Senate.

Republicans choose sides
Inside the Republican Party, it looks like you're going to choose one side. That became evident in the dwindling days of the Trump administration.
A new generation of Trump-supportive outright Republican Congress members such as Georgia Congressman Marjorie Taylor Greene and Colorado Congressman Lauren Boebert joined them.
Opposite the Trump wing are Republicans like Rep. Liz Cheney and McConnell.
Almost immediately after his second impeachment trial, Trump kept an eye out for endorsing every major opponent of several members of Congress who voted to indict him.
It was believed that, should any of these members of Congress receive a primary challenge, Trump supporters would be cheered enough to support the challengers as well.
Cheney received a primary challenge almost immediately after her impeachment decision. Some others have too. Almost every Republican senator who voted to condemn Trump has been censored by their local party.

Establishment GOP should know that Trump is ready and waiting for 2022
Donald Trump is already able to support candidates and be a key player in the 2022 midterm elections.
According to those in the know, his new Save America PAC has “gigantic” amounts of money.
He has already started sponsoring candidates including Sens. Tim Scott (R-SC), John Kennedy (R-LA), Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC), the Governor of South Carolina, Henry McMaster (R) and former White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders in her run for Arkansas governor.
Trump most recently supported Alabama Congressman Mo Brooks in his bid for the Senate and first American Senator Rand Paul.
Not a word yet whether Trump will travel to Alaska to confirm Kelly Tshibaka. Both wings of the party appear to be cashless, however, and 2022 could prove to be an interesting year.
