Ducey, Governor of AZ, calls the Nationwide Guard to the border and proclaims the state of emergency
Arizona Governor Doug Ducey has sent National Guard troops to the state on the southern US border and declared a state of emergency in response to the influx of illegal immigrants across the border.
On Tuesday, the Ducey office announced that "the state will provide up to $ 25 million in initial funding for the mission." This includes around 250 guards who support border communities with medical care in prisons, the installation of surveillance cameras and other services.
Ducey's declaration of a state of emergency makes Arizona the first state in the union to do so. Governor Ducey said of the Biden government's handling of the border crisis that it was "completely disconnected from reality".
Ducey added, “I said last month that the Biden government is completely disconnected from reality. Sometimes it seems like they fully understand reality and bury their heads in the sand trying to ignore it anyway. "

The Arizona Democrats understand the real border situation
Governor Ducey has the support of two Democratic Senators from Arizona. Sens. Kyrsten Sinema and Mark Kelly sent a letter to President Joe Biden asking him to repay Arizona for the National Guard.
Kelly has also issued a separate letter explaining the situation at the border, calling it a crisis, and requesting additional resources, staff, transformation and testing "necessary to ensure a safe, orderly process that does not occur the parishes in Arizona falls ".

The situation at the border shows no signs of getting better anytime soon. The latest US Customs and Border Protection figures paint a bleak picture.
In March alone, CBP arrested over 170,000 people. Of those fears, about 19,000 were unaccompanied minors.
Reuters reported that CBP expects more than a million immigrants to arrive at the border this year. That number is similar to the number of 978,000 in 2019 during the Trump administration.
Today we are voting on two immigration laws that do nothing to resolve the border crisis.
On the contrary, these bills make it difficult for Border Patrol to do their job and make our border less secure.
This is what democratic priorities look like.

The governor of Texas has already called the National Guard to the border
Ducey is not the first border state governor to call up his national guard. Texas Governor Greg Abbott dispatched troops to the southern border in March but did not declare a state of emergency.
Governor Abbott blamed the Biden government's immigration policy. "The crisis on our southern border continues to escalate due to the policy of the Biden government, which refuses to secure the border and invite illegal immigration," he said.
Texas appears to be taking the lead in solving border problems.
Sens. John Cornyn (R-TX) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) have introduced laws in a rather rare representation of non-partisanship to curb the increase on the southern border.
Fox News reports that the bill would address the Biden government's ability to handle the surge at the border, trying to timely file asylum applications from immigrants and also deterring those who are unlikely to be approved.
The joint bill would also protect unaccompanied minors.
Earlier this month, Governor Greg Abbott opened an investigation into three different possible child abuse allegations in a San Antonio home that housed unaccompanied minors. The Freeman Coliseum currently houses 1,300 people.

The governor of Arizona calls on the government for a border crisis
Late last month, President Biden appointed Vice President Kamala Harris to deal with the border crisis.
The Biden government criticized the characterization of the border situation. The President himself had only described the situation at the border as a crisis this weekend.
On Monday, however, White House press secretary Jen Psaki clarified that Biden's use of the term "crisis" was referring to the situation in Central America and not to the surge on our border.
Republican elected officials don't have it. Governors and many congressmen and senators blame Joe Biden for the border crisis.
Governor Ducey slammed the Biden government for inaction on the border.
"It has obviously become clear that Arizona needs the National Guard, and the White House is aware of it. However, to date, this government has not taken action and it does not look like they will act anytime soon. If this government does nothing we will. "
Since Vice President Harris has been in charge of the border, he has yet to visit the area or one of its detention facilities.
Republican lawmakers call for meetings with VP Harris
Fox News reports that top Republicans on three House committees called on Monday to meet Harris "to discuss the Biden-Harris administration's response to the southern border disaster."
In the letter to Harris, Reps Jim Jordan (R-OH), John Katko (R-NY), and James Comer (R-KY) noted that
"More than two weeks ago, President Joe Biden delegated the government's response to the humanitarian and security crisis on the southern border to you. However, it is unclear what action you have taken or are planning to take to respond to the crisis, which is affecting everyone Day further tightened. "
Harris described her role as primarily "diplomatic" in response to a request from Congressmen. She also said that she would look at the "root causes" of the problems at the border.
Preliminary orders on Monday the administration ordered Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and CBP officials to avoid using terms such as “illegal alien”, “foreigner” and “assimilation” and asked for the words “no” instead -Citizen "," Migrant "," Undocumented "and" Integration "to use.
President Biden selected VP Harris to address the border crisis, but it has not taken any action in 27 days.
