Water on racism
When Waters was asked earlier this week what she thought of Senator Tim Scott's speech in which Black Republican President Joe Biden gave the GOP counter-argument and said, "America is not a racist country," Waters said, "Well, you know, that I don't know if he was advised to say this or if he really believes it. "
"If you really believe this, then not only has he missed the history of the country, but what is happening now," added Waters.
She continued, "As we watched the Capitol invasion on Jan. 6, the people who followed Trump said they were going to take back their government and they were ready to harm the people."
Waters said racial hatred was a factor in the riots.

Waters accuses Trump of making racist comments
Waters then turned her attention to former President Donald Trump.
She added: "We went through the civil rights movement, in which of course we made some progress, but this president that we had Trump brought us back."
"He made racist comments," she insisted.

"You know, identify with the likes of the Ku Klux Klan and the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers and QAnon," Waters said.
"I mean, this is racism, which is defined in the most obvious way. To say this is not a racist country, he might mean to say that there are a lot of people in this country who are not racist," she added .
"But yes, we have a problem with racism," added Waters.
