Liz Cheney is reportedly "being checked out and accepting her destiny" as calls develop to displace her
New reports say Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) is "checked out" and "already accepted her fate" as there is increasing demand for her to be ousted as chairman of the Republican Conference.
Liz Cheney is checked out
"House Republican sources tell us that Cheney is" checked out "and already accepts her fate. In contrast to the last attempt to oust her in February, which she handily defeated, she does not make phone calls or whips," reported Politico Playbook.
"A source close to Cheney said it intended to use the argument that executives should be able to say what they think is right without doing anything," the publication added.

Cheney tries to defend himself
That came after Cheney tried to defend herself in a comment published by the Washington Post accusing Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), the minority chairman of the House of Representatives, of "changing … history" about the politics of the United States to have republican caucus. She then claimed she was the true "conservative Republican".
“I'm a Conservative Republican, and the most conservative conservative value is reverence for the rule of law. Each of us swears an oath before God to uphold our constitution, ”argued Cheney.
Since she voted for the charges against former President Donald Trump earlier this year, calls for Cheney to be ousted from her leadership role have increased. She recently doubled that by saying "it's important" that Trump doesn't run again in 2024.
"I don't think that's going to happen," Cheney told the Washington Examiner. "And I think it's important that it doesn't happen, given what he's done."

Trump shoots back
Trump was never one to put that down and made his own statement.
"Liz Cheney has sooooo low polls in Wyoming and so little support from the Wyoming Republican Party that she's looking for a way out of her congressional race. Based on all the polls, there is no way she can win, "said Trump.
"She will either be another lobbyist or embarrass her family by running for president to save the face," he added. "This warmongering fool wants to stay in the Middle East and Afghanistan for another 19 years, but doesn't take into account the big picture – Russia and China!"
