Paul Ryan would be the keynote speaker on the By no means-Trumper Kinzinger fundraiser

Former House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) will be the keynote speaker at a fundraiser for anti-Trump MP Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) on Monday. The event is expensive, according to Politico, with ticket prices ranging from $ 250 to $ 11,600.

Kinzinger was one of ten Republicans who voted to indict former President Donald Trump. Many critics of the former president say he instigated the uprising that took place in the Capitol on January 6th.

Kinzinger, who now regularly attacks Trump, could pay a political price for speaking out in contempt for the former president.

Of the ten GOP House members who voted for the indictment against Trump, nine, including Kinzinger, have at least one major opponent for 2022, and all of them have The Donald's attention.

Ryan is also a critic of Trump

Paul Ryan left Congress in 2019 after some GOP House members and Senators announced they would not seek re-election.

While official reasons range from running for governorates to Senate House members to the old willingness to "spend more time with my family," there is some speculation that many of these incumbent House members and senators with Donald finished were Trump.

In 2016, Ryan told Republicans that they "should feel free to give up on Trump" and made it pretty clear that there was no effort to encourage Republicans to work with Trump when he took office.

Paul Ryan was also a critic of Trump. He called the Republican efforts to challenge the electoral college votes for President Joe Biden "anti-democratic and anti-conservative."

After the election, Ryan also said Trump should accept the 2020 election results and "accept the transfer of power".

Kinzinger, other Never-Trumpers portrayed as "rebels" by the media

Much like his colleague Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), who was recently removed from a GOP executive position, Kinzinger is portrayed by the media as someone who is alone in his faith and in a "lonely place at the top" is ”position.

A February New York Times article described him as "now facing the classic challenge of political outsiders trying to prove their independence."

Not only is he viewed by other Republicans like Cheney as ignorant of the direction voters want to take the party in, but shortly after his impeachment vote, a cousin released a very public letter saying that Kinzinger disappointed the family. and that: "You embarrassed the family name Kinzinger!" The cousin added that she wanted Kinzinger to be "avoided".

Kinzinger recently formed a political action committee with the aim of reformatting the party by emphasizing low taxes, defense and social conservatism. However, the only thing not mentioned is an America First Agenda.

"I stand by Liz," said GOP MP Adam Kinzinger after MP Liz Cheney was ousted from her GOP leadership position.

Clear lines were drawn

When Paul Ryan speaks at a GOP event, it is a clear message not only to the party but also to the voters. There is no doubt that Donald Trump is now and likely will remain the most influential person in the Republican Party.

But it is becoming increasingly clear that there are two different wings of the party. A surefire way to determine which is more popular with voters will be when Donald Trump starts rallies next month.

Much will also be revealed about where the minds of Conservative voters are headed by 2022. Will they feel the need to punish Adam Kinzinger and the others who voted to indict Donald Trump by voting them out?

As early as February, residents of the Kinzinger district were asked how they felt about his voice on the indictment against Trump.

One of those residents, a 63-year-old retired mechanical engineer, said, “If you want to vote as a Democrat, vote as a Democrat. If you're a Republican, support our president. Trump was the first president to represent me. The stuff he helped me. "

Adam Kinzinger can be "at peace" with his voice. His voters couldn't be.

It was a sobering moment to vote for impeachment today. to go to the US Capitol, our symbol of democracy, and remember the violent uprising we witnessed here a week ago. This is not a vote that I took lightly, but one that I took confidently. I am at peace.
