One of Joe Biden's most ardent supporters, the Climate Change Progressives, are discouraged by what they see as the misguided priorities of the Biden government.
So much so that they are protesting in front of the White House today.
A coalition of climate activists called The Sunrise Movement, which is primarily aimed at young people, wants President Joe Biden to reconsider working with Republicans on his pending infrastructure package.
According to a report by The Hill, the protest is expected to be attended by some "willing to risk arrest".
The organizers of Friday's protest are already planning another one later in the month.

The previous climate protection measures of the Biden administration
Back in April, Biden set a goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by the end of the decade. The Biden government has also acted quickly to convert government vehicles to a fully electric fleet.

One of the biggest steps to keeping the environmentalist base happy was President Joe Biden immediately abandoning the Keystone XL pipeline project on day one and also imposing a moratorium on all oil and gas activities in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

Who is the Sunrise Movement and what do they want?
So far, this mostly millennial-driven coalition, led by Executive Director Varshini Prakash, has said it has had fairly open policies with the Biden government. They were able to develop good relationships with high-ranking Biden officials.
A report by Politico on the “green” attitudes and appointments of the Biden government reads like a who's who of climate fans.
Many in the Obama administration, some former Democratic MPs, former Democratic governors, and even some like Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, former chief opponent of the president.
But apparently, negotiations with Republicans, who represent about half the country, are slowing down climate laws unacceptably, and they are getting a bit frustrated.
The Hill report goes on to say that the group is keen to deal with things like the New Green Deal and one of the things they look forward to most is the proposal of a "fully funded" civilian climate corps.
Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) have proposed bills for such an organization.
On his website, Sunrise says Joe Biden wants the Civilian Climate Corps to pass by the end of the summer as part of the American Jobs Plan. The aim is to create millions of green jobs.
A fully funded Civilian Climate Corps (CCC) would put young people back to work in our own communities so we can really build better, as @joebiden and @kamalaharris say they want to.
And we can do all of that as we reshape our communities and get good wages. pic.twitter.com/2nvDNgOroK

Climate activists resent the lack of attention from the Biden government
Varshini Prakash says she has been invited to work with the Biden-Sanders Unity Task Force to help Joe Biden shape climate policy and now appears disappointed with Biden's promise of future collaboration.
“Biden came up to us and promised us a future, and in return we worked tirelessly to get him elected. We kept our side of the deal, but now that Biden is in power, that promise of co-governance with progressives and young people is gone.
Prakash added that she believes that continuing negotiations with Republicans "sends the wrong message."
"He's spent more time meeting with a Republican party that to this day denies he is the democratically elected president," she said.
The Sunrise movement is planning another protest at the White House on June 28th.
Democrats must take their power seriously. Fight for us or get out of the way.
Our demands are simple and clear: we are not negotiating with the GOP because they are not serious about taking measures to resolve the crises we are facing.
