In the Friday episode of the ABC talk show "The View", conservative commentator Meghan McCain attacked MP Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) to recently urge President Joe Biden not to cross the aisle.
Tweet from AOC
McCain responded to a tweet Ocasio-Cortez posted on Wednesday.
"Pres. Biden & Senate Dems should take a step back and wonder if it's really worth playing patty cake with GOP Senators, dismantling people's voting rights, setting the planet on fire, and enabling big corporations and the rich to Not paying their fair share of taxes, etc, ”wrote the Democratic congresswoman.

McCain finishes off
That didn't go well with McCain, whose co-host Whoopi Goldberg asked what it takes to "actually get both sides to work together" or if it was even possible.
“I don't know, man. It's pretty depressing, ”said McCain. “I don't live like that. I don't think the American government was designed that way. I think there are mistakes everywhere.
"I think AOC is one of the brightest politicians in America right now," she continued. "She's not just an innocent fawn in the forest that 'establishes the facts'. She persecutes people in her own party like Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema – who, by the way, are people who put their money into it, and work with the other side. "

McCain continued to praise Manchin and Sinema for “trying to get things done across parties. I think that's the spirit of America. This is the America I want to live in. ”She concluded by saying that despite Ocasio-Cortez's words, Biden should keep reaching across the aisle.
"I don't think when Joe Biden was elected president to 'heal the soul of the nation and be a president of all Americans,' it meant 'screwing up Republicans forever, now I'm in power,'" McCain concluded . "If that's the message, I just don't know how to get it around because it's not a bona fide argument."
Joy Behar disagrees
Unsurprisingly, McCain's co-host Joy Behar disagreed with her.
"For Republicans to block any kind of legislation in these two areas, I consider it a major breach of duty, including Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema," said Behar. “I feel like we're on another Groundhog Day with Mitch McConnell, who says no every time people want him to say yes, to help the American people. So, yes, Ms. Ocasio-Cortez is right. "
