VIDEO: Students shocked by Cuban protesters hoisting "controversial" American flags

A video released Thursday by the Campus Reform group shows young people, many of whom ironically stand outside the nation's Capitol and are asked what the American flag means to them.

Reporter Ophelie Jacobson then shows them pictures of recent protests in Cuba and other places around the world such as Hong Kong and Venezuela, and asks interviewees why people in other nations are hoisting American flags.

The answers were a terrifying account of not only the massive failure of the American education system, but how America's young people are taught to hate America.

America not that great

The young people Jacobson interviewed came from a wide variety of populations, so you can expect a wide range of responses. That's not what we got.

What we have is a generation being taught that America is not an extraordinary place, that it is a place full of racism and hatred and should not be used as an example.

When asked what the American flag means to her, one woman said, “What a shame, I felt that if I had the American flag and was associated with American identity, I would be in with a lot of bigotry, racism and sexism Connected. "

Another student, a young African American, said of the flag, "It's a symbol of hurt." When asked if the American flag was a symbol of freedom and liberty, most of the students said no.

One person – only one – said he believed the American flag symbolized "peace, prosperity and freedom".

As if that wasn't scary enough, Ophelie Jacobson then showed the students pictures of the ongoing protests in Cuba, and in 2019 in Hong Kong and Venezuela. It was obvious that they had no idea why these people were hoisting American flags.

One student remarked, “I mean, we don't represent a socialist government … so I don't know why you are waving the flag. To be honest, I'm not sure. "

Another student said, “That's a good question. It's interesting to see how they are all decked out with American flags and everything. "

Interesting, like a curiosity that stands next to the 2.40 meter tall man and the bearded lady at the carnival on the roadside. Insert mandatory eye roll here.

They just don't know what's really going on

While some of the students dared to believe that Cubans might fly American flags because it is a symbol of freedom, another student said, “The stigma is that you come to America, you get anything you want, but you get it come here and it's actually very different. You have to work for your things. "

This girl said she was from Ukraine. Come to America and get everything you want? Let's hope Hunter Biden isn't the figurehead for US immigration in Ukraine.

The idea is that these people who wave American flags are just being naive and don't really know what is going on in America.

One young man even said that, of course, it's "our demographics, it's college-aged people who have a firm grasp of what's going on and all of the injustices in America". Our young African American friend said no country should be placed on a pedestal.

OK. Your humble correspondent here likes to think I remember what it was like to be young.

You're smart, so on the ball, you have all the answers. Here I'm officially going to be my parents, but Newsflash, snot nose.

No, it is NOT your demographics that has an accurate understanding of what is going on.

Your target audience is eating tidal pods and not sure which bathroom to use. Why Cubans fly American flags is a mystery to you? Call the MENSA people.

Liberal Enclave Washington D.C.

To do justice to these idealistic young people, they live in an extremely liberal city. The citizens of Washington D.C. voted overwhelmingly for Hillary Clinton in 2016 and Joe Biden in 2020.

Literally overwhelming. Both Hillary and Biden received over 90% of the vote.

And they also listen to the media, which studies have shown are becoming increasingly liberal. Combine this with what we know about the relationship of liberal to conservative professors in higher education and it's no wonder.

These young people have no idea of the misery, extreme poverty and terror that six decades of socialism and communism have inflicted on the Cuban people.

These people don't seem to know that refugees are crammed into rickety boats and life rafts and are making the 90 mile journey through shark-infested waters to America because they are so desperate for freedom.

One of the interviewed young women rated the flag, which the above-mentioned participants see as a symbol of freedom and freedom, as follows: “No, I don't think America is as free as people think. At the end of the day it's just a piece of cloth. "

But everyone else is naive.
