A whistleblower complaint filed on Wednesday alleges the Department of Health (HHS) urged workers at a migrant facility in Texas to downplay the severity of a COVID outbreak in children earlier this year.
NBC News reports that the complaint – sent to four congressional committees and government watchdogs – detailed the abuse of children at a migrant shelter in Fort Bliss, Texas, "by federal contractors and officers."
The whistleblowers claim that an outbreak of COVID broke out at the migrant facility sometime between April and June.
“Covid was widespread among children and eventually spread to many employees. Hundreds of children have contracted COVID under the overcrowded conditions, "the complaint reads.
"Adequate masks were not consistently made available to the children and their use was not consistently enforced."

Whistleblowers Say HHS directed them to downplay COVID outbreak

And according to the whistleblower complaint, HHS did its best to convince volunteers to downplay the fact that illegal immigrants housed in a federal facility were spreading COVID.
They claim that at the end of the volunteer period, "a sheet of paper was passed around with detailed instructions from the HHS Public Affairs Office on how to sound positive and downplay any negative about the Fort Bliss experience when asked."
"Every effort has been made to downplay the level of COVID infection at the site and the extent of the outbreak has been deliberately kept under wraps," the complaint read.

At a town hall full of staff, a senior US health service manager refused to share the infection rate and said he did not want the number to end up being reported by the media, the whistleblowers said.
The senior official reportedly stated, "If this graphic (of the infections) goes to the Washington Post every day, that's the only thing we're dealing with and politics will take control, awareness will prevail and." we are dealing with reality, not perception. "

No response from Democrats to whistleblower HHS complaint
Under normal circumstances, one might think that such accusations would alarm radical Democrats like MP Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who made it a life's work to compare President Trump's migrant facilities to concentration camps.
Overcrowded conditions, disease spread.
Oh, and remember when the Democrats accused President Trump of "literally" ripping babies out of their mothers' arms?
The federal contractors under Biden, according to the whistleblower complaint against HHS, gave children "false hopes of reuniting with family members only to pull them back at the last minute and even take children off bus and plane lines before takeoff".
I will never forget that because it was the moment I saw with my own eyes that the America I love became a nation that steals refugee children from their parents and imprisons them.
After that, more children died. So far, no one has been held accountable.
We have to save these children. https://t.co/HhdMqc5zML

No lessons appear to have been learned from what has happened since then at the Fort Bliss migrant facility.
A judge in Hidalgo County, Texas earlier this week accused the Biden government of releasing COVID-positive illegal immigrants into surrounding communities.
He blamed "ill-conceived policies" at the federal and state levels and "urged federal immigration officials to stop the release of infected migrants in our community."

"The Biden government must stop importing Covid into our country," Texas Governor Greg Abbott previously said.
Not only does it appear to be imported, but according to the whistleblowers, HHS is trying to stop the media from letting the American people know about it.
