The U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) have been instructed to arrest non-masked visitors and staff on the house side of the Capitol Complex.
Police requested that visitors and employees be arrested without a mask
USCP chief Thomas Manger announced this in a new police memo received by a member of Congress, according to Fox News.
While officials have been told not to arrest members of Congress who refuse to wear masks, they are instead instructed to report non-compliance with the law to the House NCO.
Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL) posted the memo on Twitter Thursday after receiving it from an unnamed Capitol Police officer.
In today's edition of Pelosi's Abuse of Power, the Capitol Police were ordered to arrest staff and visitors in order to fulfill their masking assignment for vaccinated individuals.
They advise members not to arrest members but "report them to the SAA for non-compliance".

"This is one such overrun of Spokesman Pelosi's authority to basically get our Capitol Police to arrest staff and report on members (of Congress)," Cammack said of the memo. "It is absolutely ruthless that we are here."

Cammack and many of her Republican colleagues are angry about the new mask mandate from Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) in the House of Representatives.
"I cannot obey this tyrannical order," said Cammack. "This is the people's house, not Nancy Pelosis' s house."

Capitol Police defends memo
Capitol Police have defended the memo, claiming that this rule was already in place and that there is "no reason" for a situation to escalate to the point where someone should be arrested for not wearing a mask.
"As for the house rules on masks, there is no reason anyone should ever be arrested," the USCP said. “Those who don't follow the rules are asked to wear a mask or leave the premises. The Ministry's requirement that officials wear masks is for their health and safety. "

Pelosi's office has tried to distract by claiming that it does not even have the authority to order the Capitol Police to arrest anyone.
"The House Speaker does not control the US Capitol Police," said Pelosi spokesman Drew Hammill. "We didn't know about the memo until it was reported in the press."

McCarthy fires back
Minority leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) responded to the memo by pointing out that the Capitol Police can only arrest people who do not wear masks on the house side or the Senate side. This is clearly because the leaders of the upper chamber have not reverted to mask mandates.
"When you're a Capitol cop you have orders … if a vaccinated employee without a mask comes by on the side of the house, you will be ordered to arrest him, but not on the Senate side," McCarthy said. "This is not the America we know."
