At a Republican Party dinner in Tennessee, minority leader Kevin McCarthy threatened to hit Speaker Pelosi with a hammer if the Republicans win back the Senate.
Reporter Vivan Jones tweeted the audio to McCarthy:

McCarthy said, "I make you this one promise. If we win the majority of what we know, you are all invited, but more importantly, I want you to watch Nancy Pelosi hand me the hammer. It will be hard not to hit her with it. "
After the 1/6 attack, Kevin McCarthy runs on a platform of violence against the House Speaker
The Capitol was attacked by a violent Republican mob in an act of domestic terror on January 6th. Kevin McCarthy uses the same terrorist impulse to threaten spokeswoman Nancy Pelosi with violence.
McCarthy is not running for problems or promises what Republicans will do for the country. The platform is anger and violence.
Violence against women is not funny, and "joking" about it should disqualify Kevin McCarthy
Sarah Jones of PoliticusUSA wrote about the culture of violence against women in the United States. Read her article, then think of McCarthy's "joke" about the commission of violence against Speaker Pelosi.
Racist jokes will no longer be tolerated. Homophobic humor is no longer appropriate. Nevertheless, Kevin McCarthy earns cheers and applause for “joking” about harming an 81-year-old woman because she has power and is respected.
Kevin McCarthy is unfit to hold a leadership position in the House of Representatives. He is not fit to be the third person in the presidency, and these comments should exclude him from holding any public office.
McCarthy has gone from helping and covering up local terrorists to threatening violence against America's most powerful woman. He is not allowed to become the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
