It's hard to admit, but sometimes, like real life, politics is stranger than fiction.
Politicians are good at forcing us to fictitiously conjure up things we have seen or heard – often things we enjoy are fictional.
If you look closely, the modern incarnation of the Democratic Party comes dangerously close to a character we have all known and loved since childhood.
The steely but persevering Wile E. Coyote.

The latest incarnation of said Mr. Coyote comes in the form of the disgraced former Senator Al Franken (D-MN).
In an interview with Masslive.com on Monday, Franken was asked about his possible future in politics. His answer: "I keep my options open, at the moment my focus is on doing this (tour) and doing other things that are more politically blatant."

Franken is apparently returning to his comedy roots and will be taking to the streets to do stand-up shows starting September 18.
Wait what Do you keep your options open? Franken undoubtedly remembers what happened in a completely different way.
Well, in fact, it does, but let's do an overview first.
Franken had to resign from his Senate seat in 2017 after at least eight women came forward to accuse him of sexual harassment and other unwanted sexual advances.
Franken denied all allegations and of course he is innocent until proven guilty. But in the end, over 30 of his senate colleagues demanded his resignation.
If Al Franken wins back his Senate seat, will #MeToo be officially over?

Democratic definition of insanity
We have all heard this definition of insanity: always doing the same thing and expecting different results. Wile E. Coyote is the embodiment of that. He would always pulverize the Road Runner with the nearest boulder. He always stuck to the same plan.
Democrats seem to be doing the same. We can go all the way back to Bill Clinton and just work our way up through John Edwards, Anthony Weiner, Andrew Cuomo, surely there are some that have been crossed off the list, but that's because the list is long.
And sometimes enough people pile up to have to step down from their positions of power and authority.
The third rung of the plan seems to be to just remain silent for a while. Do some charity work, carry a Bill Clinton Bible and a viola a few years later! It's like the Servpro people showed up. "It's like it never happened."
You can actually go further than Bill Clinton. And sometimes the order of the steps is different. Sometimes the steps are skipped completely.
After all, Teddy Kennedy was elected six more times after Chappaquiddick.
Al Franken does not need a redemption story. Please stop. Please.

The dangers of the victim
Wile E. Coyote was a victim of his own poor planning and never knew the Road Runner would outsmart him every time. Democratic men get caught with their hands where they shouldn't be to make everyone believe they are victims too.
Bill Clinton charged a 22 year old intern. At least Andrew Cuomo thought outside the box and went through the "I'm Italian, I touch everyone" defense. Anthony Weiner stated that it was, of course, obvious that his computer was hacked.
During his interview with Masslive.com, Franken also said, “Well, I wanted due process, but I had 36 colleagues and a majority leader who wouldn't give it to me so it was impossible. But you regret something. At that moment it was a very strange, difficult situation. "
Will Al Franken do another Senate run? It's difficult to say. What is not difficult to say is that the Wile E. Coyotes of the Democrat Party will continue to use the same game plan they always have. Get caught, play the victim, lie down, emerge cleansed. At least that's what they think.
At least, unlike in real life, politics is never boring.
